Friday weather update.

No date with Nate!!! As of this morning Tropical storm Nate is still in the southern Gulf of Mexico and all weather models indicate the storm will become a hurricane and then head into Mexico and not pose a threat to the Pine Belt. One must remember that weather is weather and it can change rapidly.

We will track Nate as long as it is in the Gulf and will let you know if any changes in the forecast occur.

The weekend appears to be warm and dry during the day and nice and cool at night.

Wednesday weather update.

Very Autumn like weather will persist in the Pine Belt for the next few days with highs in the 80s and lows in the 50s. By the beginning of next week we are expecting temps to return to normal for this time of year with highs back in the lower 90s.

On to the tropics. Tropical storm Maria will likely form today well out in the far eastern Atlantic. Most computer models keep this storm away from the gulf but another system that is currently slowly evolving in the southern Gulf of Mexico may be something that we will have to contend with down the line. It's name will most likely be Nate.

We will keep you posted.
