104 Degrees...Ouch!

Another new record set at Hattiesburg's Bobby L. Chain Airport. The recorded 104 degrees today makes the tenth day out of the last 13 where the airport has been matched or exceeded the triple digit mark. This definitely will be a summer heat wave to remember. Our forecast shows us a very warm 100 degree 4th of July weekend, but a shortwave forming in the middle mississippi river valley will help drop the daytime high next week. The system will also allow us to find scattered showers breakout across the Pine Belt. Obviously rainfall is becoming a necessity, but I hope we can all be careful shooting fireworks with multiple burn bans in the area.
